Overview
Wonder Festival, organized by the Wonder Festival Executive Committee and KAIYODO Co., Ltd., is a highly creative event dedicated to the art of sculpting as its theme. It brings together exhibitors with a deep passion for sculptural works, regardless of whether they are professionals or amateurs, allowing them to showcase and sell their original creations in the form of so-called "garage kits." With the world class number of exhibited works, Wonder Festival attracts an unparalleled number of visitors eager to purchase these unique pieces. This makes it the largest sculpting festival in the world, celebrating creativity and craftsmanship on an unprecedented scale.
Wonder Festival, commonly known as "WonFes," was first held in 1985. In its early years, the majority of attendees were young male model enthusiasts. However, with each successive event, the diversity of sculpted works has expanded, attracting a broader audience across gender and age groups, including women, families, and older generations. During the event, a large number of enthusiastic fans visit the venue in search of limited-edition and rare items available only at the event. Combined with the number of artists and exhibitors, who are equally passionate about showcasing the work they have poured their time and skills into, the total number of participants reaches a whopping 38,000 (average after the Corona Disaster).
For many years, we have been involved in supporting this vibrant "festival" by overseeing the overall spatial design of the venue and providing assistance to organizers and exhibiting companies.
The highest priority is, of course, ensuring the safety and security of the event.
The greatest challenge lies in creating a space that guarantees safety while also maintaining smooth circulation and embracing the creativity that defines the event—within the vast venue that has been held at Makuhari Messe Halls 1–8 since 2010.
This is precisely where our "power to create" comes into play.
The first priority is ensuring that visitors, each with different interests and preferences, can safely and effortlessly navigate their way to their desired exhibits without confusion.
Additionally, it is crucial that they fully immerse themselves in the dynamic and energetic atmosphere of the event.
We dedicate our expertise and passion to zoning and flow design, keeping these two key aspects at the core of our approach.
To create the ultimate experience where exhibitors and visitors can connect at this festival, the design and construction of the venue play a crucial role.
A staggering 3,000 tables and 7,000 folding chairs are set up for the event.
Designing the layout of these elements with a focus on safety and comfort, we bring the ideal venue to life.
To achieve this, in addition to the expertise we have accumulated in space design for large-scale events, close collaboration with our partner companies plays a crucial role.
From designing "points" that maximize interactions between exhibitors and visitors to carefully planning "lines" for smooth traffic flow and efficient setup and breakdown, every detail is meticulously crafted.
We bring these plans to life seamlessly through swift and efficient actions, ensuring smooth execution without delays—made possible by strong teamwork with our partner companies.
This process relies on mutual trust in each other's expert skills and professionalism, which are essential for seamless execution.
This is a creative festival that always cherishes the passion of exhibitors for their creations and the excitement of visitors when they encounter them.
As a behind-the-scenes contributor to this festival's growth, we take great pride in being recognized by our clients as a trusted and reliable partner. We believe that this recognition is a true testament to our "power to create."
