Mechanical Components & Materials Technology Expo

Oriental Motor Co. exhibition booth design, design and construction services

Overview

The Mechanical Components & Materials Technology Expo is one of Japan's largest specialized exhibitions for mechanical components and processing technologies. Oriental Motor, a manufacturer of precision small motors, has been a regular exhibitor, and we have been responsible for the design, planning, and construction of their booth for eight consecutive years since 2008(as of 2015).

The Mechanical Components & Materials Technology Expo brings together a vast array of mechanical elements such as bearings, screws, and springs, as well as processing technologies related to metals and resins, making it one of the largest specialized exhibitions in Japan.

With visitors from a variety of industries and many specific business inquiries being made, our task was to create a booth that would showcase a wide range of products in a compelling way and help attract new customers.

The first thing we did was to learn about Oriental Motor’s products and corporate culture.

To truly highlight the appeal of their products, it was essential to have a deep understanding of the company itself.

Through this process, we identified two key challenges: how to effectively convey the extensive variety of product information in a limited space, and how to demonstrate the company’s presence as a top manufacturer of precision small motor manufacturer.

To address these challenges, we undertook a fundamental review of the design and conceptual approach to the booth.

Creating a spatial design within an exhibition booth requires designing traffic flow with careful deep consideration and visitor needs, as well as staging the space so the products are displayed in the most beautiful and attractive way possible.

We found our solution: instead of viewing the booth as a conventional "exhibition booth," we decided to approach it as a kind of "museum."

By using display fixtures that allowed for three-dimensional presentations, we eliminated the sense of clutter, displaying each product like a work of art and creating an atmospheric, elegant environment.

The "museum” concept also benefited the overall design and appearance of the booth from a distance.

We used black to represent the dignity of a top manufacturer and white to symbolize trust. By playing with light and shadow, and skillfully utilizing lighting effects, we amplified the booth's presence, successfully differentiating it from the many others in the exhibition hall.

We have managed this project for eight consecutive years (as of 2015).

This achievement is supported by the trust and partnership we have built by learning about and understanding our clients’ products and corporate culture. This commitment is what shapes the most essential aspect of our “Power of Creation.”
