Overview
Facing the "2024 Logistics Problem" in 2024. Amid growing concerns that, without countermeasures, the transport capacity of commercial trucks could decrease by 34.1% by 2030, the International Logistics Comprehensive Exhibition 2024 was held. Under the strong determination of the organizers to overcome the logistics crisis, the latest logistics equipment, systems, software, hardware, and information from both domestic and international sources were gathered in one place to shape a sustainable future for logistics. Over the four-day exhibition period, the event attracted more than 84,000 visitors, exceeding the previous event by over 40% and garnering significant attention both within and beyond the industry. At the largest logistics and logistics-related exhibition in Asia, our role was to oversee the entire venue construction and provide support to the organizers and exhibiting companies.
This year, when the overtime work limits for truck drivers were revised, the industry's biggest challenge was to tackle the driver shortage and withstand the headwinds of rising fuel costs.
At Tokyo Big Sight East Halls 1–8, an impressive 3,200+ booths were exhibited, transcending industry boundaries.
A key feature of recent exhibitions is the shift from traditionally hardware-focused displays to a diverse range of exhibitors, including new players from different industries.
The hallmark of the logistics exhibition is its massive-scale displays, featuring vehicles, material handling equipment, and warehouse-related solutions.
In addition, a wide range of automation and efficiency-enhancing products and services were extensively exhibited, aiming to address logistics challenges arising from a declining birthrate, an aging population, and labor shortages.
Our goal was to create a space that would maximize the impact of the organizers' message: "Now is the time to transform the structure of logistics and the way we work in the industry."
To this end, a space was designed in the concourse area leading to the venue to launch the exhibition logo and the organizer's message.
We successfully balanced the overwhelming scale of the logistics industry with seamless access to information, while also fostering a unified spirit and strong determination across the entire venue to drive the industry's future forward.
The larger the venue, the more crucial it becomes to have a meticulously planned and precisely executed zoning and traffic flow strategy.
First and foremost, ensuring seamless navigation throughout the vast venue was a priority. Equally important was creating moments of fresh discovery and excitement every time visitors moved between halls.
The ability to plan and execute all of these elements flawlessly within a limited timeframe—that is what we define as our "power to create."
With our extensive experience in creating large-scale exhibition venues and our proven track record, we played a key role in ensuring the success of this highly message-driven event.
