Overview
FOOMA JAPAN, the International Food Machinery & Technology Exhibition, is organized by the Japan Food Machinery Manufacturers' Association (hereinafter referred to as "JFMA"). It is an exhibition showcasing machinery and equipment related to food manufacturing and processing. Our company has been consistently responsible for the overall construction and operation of this event since its inception. With over 680 exhibiting companies across 21 sectors and more than 90,000 visitors, this is JFMA's largest-scale project.
FOOMA JAPAN aims to propose “prosperity through food technology” by showcasing the latest in food machinery technology, products, and services. In today's world, where there is increasing concern for "food safety and security," this exhibition is attracting attention not only from the food industry but also from society at large.
We have continuously supported the event as a behind-the-scenes partner and as the assistant to the organizer's office, supporting the tasks with overall construction and operational duties to help achieve the exhibition's goals.
Among these responsibilities, one of the most critical tasks is the layout and zoning of the entire venue.
With over 680 exhibiting companies from 21 different fields gathered in one place and Tokyo Big Sight's East Hall packed to its capacity, the challenge lies in how to balance visitor safety with efficient navigation through the venue, while also facilitating successful matchmaking between exhibitors and visitors.
To meet these demands for highly detailed placement planning and traffic flow design, the first thing we do is work with the organizer's office to fully understand the characteristics and strengths of each exhibitor.
Visitor movement and distribution within the venue can be optimized through the relationships between different sectors and the positioning of booths.
In other words, by analyzing, calculating, and predicting layouts and zoning based on the detailed data of exhibitors, we can create a space that not only encourages easy navigation but also enhances the chances of successful connections between exhibitors and visitors, meeting the needs of both parties.
Furthermore, the layout and zoning also impact the setup and takedown phases.
With such a large number of exhibitors preparing their booths at the same time, the logistics of load-in and load-out inevitably become congested.
By incorporating load-in and load-out considerations into our layout and zoning design, and by devising and sharing efficient schedules, we have successfully ensured smooth and safe operations.
Through our long-standing involvement with FOOMA JAPAN, from the establishment of the organizer’s office to the present day, we have always tried to view each project from the client's perspective, consistently sharing a sense of responsibility and addressing challenges together to provide more practical solutions.
We believe that the best partnerships are built on supporting our clients' success as the unsung hero, helping them achieve their goals. This approach, along with the solutions we provide to make it happen, is what we call our "Power of Creation."
